Fill a long, low vase with pebbles or sand. Trim and spray-paint sticks and place among pebbles. Attach birds or other ornaments.
Tip: Our white-on-white palette is hot, but you can also try any accent colour: silver, gold, pastels or even a vibrant hue.

Drill through the handle of an old spoon with a metal drill bit. Sand lightly and spray with adhesive. Place into a small bag filled with 2 tablespoons of glitter. Shake until coated. Thread with ribbon and mail tag.
Tip: Salvage shops are great places to find inexpensive mismatched cutlery.

Use leftover cardboard tubes to make your own crackers. Fill with prizes, then roll with scraps of wrapping paper. Tie the ends and add ribbon and ornaments.
Tip: Cracker snaps can be bought at craft stores for added authenticity.
Frosty placemats: Have fun making paper snowflakes and turning them into pretty table decorations.
Start with eight basket-style coffee filters. Gather each into a pouf shape by pinching at the centre. Hand-stitch all eight poufs together at the pinched point. Tie ends of thread together. Fan out layers into flower.

D.I.Y. pedestal: Turn a small ramekin upside down, top it with a saucer and trim with lace, ribbon or paper.
