My grandma never imagined needing any of this stuff - this list helps put the whole luxury versus necessity thing into perspective.

Clothing stores are few and far between in my eternally up-and-coming Toronto neighbourhood. But we do have lots of junk shops and thrift stores.

We just booked our annual pilgrimage to warmth - Florida. My Mum, the lucky gal, spends the winter there and I’ve always managed to get away for a visit. But right now with two kids and a tight budget, going south is going to be tough.

Now that graduation’s over, parents are probably feeling nostalgic for those few precious years their kids were at school and living away from home. For many moms and dads, graduation has put a swift end to those carefree days of being an empty nester.

Right now I know a lot of women getting ready to go back to work after maternity leave. Some are keen to get back (hot coffee and adult conversation — yay!) and some are finding it really hard to get psyched.
