But is our fascination with good looks sensible if what we really want is a stable, loving relationship rather than a ridiculously good-looking partner? Probably not, suggests part of a larger UK study on aging and facial symmetry.

If you had good parents, or even one great parent, count your blessings. Not only did they teach you the meaning of the word love (a definition that you take out into the world with you and hopefully recreate) through their actions and behaviours, but the loving environment they created also encouraged proper brain development.

As women age, the arbitrary rules that govern what they can and can’t wear appear to get more and more infantile. Or so a new UK survey indicates. Conducted by a UK diet company—I’m already suspicious—the poll found that most women feel uncomfortable donning a bikini as they near 50 and that they negatively evaluate women who wear bikinis after a certain age.

According to an article in the Daily Mail, in a survey conducted by Hidden Hearing, a U.K.-based healthcare organization that treats hearing loss, one-third of all women polled admitted that they frequently “faked” listening when the conversation threatened to, itself, become a chore.
