Weekend style: Sexy black skirt and white t-shirt

Keep this graphic black and white combo simple and sexy with a swipe of red lipstick and slicked-back hair.

A look that's reminiscent of a favourite style icon of mine - Carolyn Bessett-Kennedy, who knew how to wear a white shirt - Leelee Sobieski nails the graphic black and white trend. Coming down the spring 2013 runways from Chanel to Marc Jacobs, this classic look keeps its impact when the two colours reign supreme.

Pairing a simple white t-shirt (a must-have fave) with a more dramatic, long black skirt with architectural detailing (a sexy slit is a bonus) gives this ensemble that I-threw-this-together-but-look-chic vibe. A pair of pointy heels accentuates, but save for a dramatic, red lip, don't add any colour or bulky accessories. The hair is not fussy - slick it back or pull it into a simple pony. Simple and sophisticated, this is a great go-to outfit for an outdoor summer party or gallery opening.
