We all scream for sunscreen

I've been working on a bunch of skincare articles for our upcoming summer issues and every single doctor I've spoken with has told me the exact same thing. WEAR SUNSCREEN. I've been lecturing my friends non-stop and no one seems to listen to me but it's the truth. If you want to prevent premature aging, SPF is where it's at. Sun damage causes age spots and blotchiness, dilated capillaries and redness and damages your skin's elastin so your skin droops and sags faster. Have I freaked you out yet? Well if the prospect of skin cancer doesn't scare the hell out of you then at least I can appeal to our reader's aesthetic sensibilities. Most doctor's say a minimum of SPF 30 every day with an SPF 45 if you're going to be out in the sun. But as I sat outside for lunch the other day I realized I wasn't wearing any, after all of my lecturing. (Well besides the SPF 15 in my moisturizer which is definitely not enough.) So I am on a mission this summer to find the best and greatest sunscreens just for all of you. Ones that aren't sticky or smelly and that easily glide under makeup. To begin, I recommend the Cliniderm's Gentle Protective Lotion SPF 45 for $29 at your local drugstore. It's not too tacky to layer makeup over and it's a physical sunscreen so I feel well protected all day long. Though I'm on a mission to figure out how to reapply sunscreen without redoing my entire face.

Some of my other favs include Neutrogena, Ombrelle, Vichy and La Roche Posay but more to come on their latest and greatest. (And if you're on the Vitamin D argument, most docs say that 1,000 IUD's a day are perfect. No need to sit in the sun!) If you have any suggestions I'd love to hear them.
