The pulled-apart braid

The key to this look is messing up all of your hard work. When you've completed a simple low braid and secured it with an elastic, gently pull at it to create this undone style.

The braided ponytail

Instead of braiding your whole ponytail, try braiding only one section of it. In the look above, the braid starts near the hairline and is gathered into a ponytail for a soft and pretty 'do.

The braided crown

Braids aren't just for people with long hair. Whether it's thick or thin, a braid that crosses over your forehead like the one above is a simple way to turn any day into a great hair day.

The braided bun

Kick the classic ballet bun up a few knotches by braiding your ponytail before you twist it into place. No need to fasten or spray any pieces that stick out — the unstructured vibe is what it's all about.

The side-swept braid

For this laid-back style, simply braid a section of hair on one side of your head and pin the end to the opposite side, so it crosses the back of your head. Some loose waves complete the look.
