Exciting news, fashion lovers! Roots has collaborated with celebrated writer and visual artist Douglas Coupland and is releasing a limited-edition clothing and accessory collection on July 8, 2010. Coupland is well-known for his best-selling novels Generation X, JPod and Girlfriend in a Coma. The theme of the collection is "Canada Goes Electric" and will include women's, men's and children's clothing, accessories, leather goods, design items, furniture, limited editions, original art and a series of pop-up stores.

This is Coupland's first time designing fashion wearables and includes t-shirts, polos, hoodies, leather jackets, accessories and more. He has also created a special coat-of-arms that many of the items are adorned with. Prices range from $4 to $1,973 for a limited-edition silver leather "Centennial" jacket which is signed by Coupland.

Every aspect of the collection, from the clothing and hang tags to the retail environment and promotional posters is directed by Coupland himself. The writer recently released a statement about the collaboration, stating: "For more than 10 years I've been intimately exploring what it means to be Canadian. This partnership with Roots is an amazing opportunity to keep that dialogue going with an even wider, more diverse audience." Check out this limited-edition collection in pop-up stores, select Roots stores and online. I know I will!
