Polishing your palms every time you wash I picked up a beauty habit after visiting a downtown spa recently. In the elegant bathroom, there was a tube of body exfoliator at the sink along with moisturizer and soap. It’s a brilliant idea having a scrub there – before now, I’d usually only thought to exfoliate my hands after I’d been working out in the garden or my palms felt particularly rough. When I give myself a home manicure, I treat myself to a hand massage – often with Cake Beauty’s sugary manicure potion – but this made me think I should do it more often. Since most body scrubs include rich oils in addition to their exfoliating grains, your hands always feel wonderful and dewy soft after washing with them. Sitting on my white marble sink currently: Jaqua Exfoliating Body Polish with Pineapple Extract in Pina Colada. This is a delicious smelling scrub – not too strong, but like a beach holiday in a tube – and it’s super-emollient with nut oils such as kukui, macadamia, sesame and sweet almont nut. It’s sold in a variety of locations across the country. Check out www.jaquabeauty.com < http://www.jaquabeauty.com/ > to find a shop near you. Biotherm’s BioSource Exfoliating Gel is also a good choice. It smells clean and fresh and has a gentle texture to its exfoliating formula. $28. Very healthy-spa in mood. Clarins One-Step Gentle Exfoliating Cleanser, 125 mL. I love this one, too. It’s built for your face, but it’s lovely in a powder room – so French and elegant – and is wonderfully soothing thanks to it being spiked with orange extract.
