Top Canadian designers + toilet paper = fashion show?
Yes, you heard me right.
Yesterday, fifteen of Canada's top designers took part in the Sixth Annual White Cashmere Collection 2009: Fashion with Compassion. The event included designers such as Sunny Fong from Project Runway, Greta Constantine, Paul Hardy and NADA to name a few.
Hosted by CTV's Beverly Thomson (love her!) a breast cancer survivor and the honourary chair and spokesperson for the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation, she spoke about the launch of the special edition Pink Cashmere bathroom tissue - where 25 cents from each sale goes directly to the Foundation.
And now onto the designs. It sounds a bit ridiculous, but these talented designers actually created some unique and exciting designs all from Cashmere bathroom tissue.
The designer duo's from Greta Constantine created strongly structured shoulders for the fall. And like one of the editor's nearby said, "You could wear these Lady Gaga style with no pants." Awesome.
The amount of work that went into Anastasia Lomonova's gown was stunning. It's a whole new bathroom tissue take on couture. It's hard to believe that this Patricia Fieldwalker ballgown is actually made out of bathroom tissue.
Love the Dandi Maestre baubles as well. If you want to decorate your bathroom and contribute to breast cancer find this limited-edition toilet paper on sale in October.
