What do a world-renowned architect and a French shoe company have in common? New fancy footwear, that's what. This July, Lacoste is launching a limited-edition capsule collection designed in collaboration with world-renowned architect Zaha Hadid. There will be one style for men and one for women, available exclusively at Browns Shoes, at 110 Bloor Street West in Toronto.

“When wrapped around the shape of a foot, these expand and contract to negotiate and adapt to the body ergonomically. In doing so a landscape emerges, undulating and radiating as it merges seamlessly with the body," says Hadid of the shoes.

He designed a wave pattern and applied a combo of heat embossing and debossing techniques to the calf leather so you can see the pattern which is also replicated on the shoe's sole, to reflect points where the foot naturally applies pressure. This streamlined design, with the strap closure system, lets you instantly flick your finger to close the design around your leg. The women's goes up to the knee, while the men's version ends at the ankle.

We can't help but appreciate such stunning and innovative designs, even if we might not be ready to invest in a pair ourselves.

For women, the boots come in purple and black and for men in navy and black. The designs cost $625 per pair.
