gm.collin revolution green beaver lip shimmers zoya
If you saw our green beauty article in the most recent issue you'll know that there are tons of things to look out for on the green market. Here are some of my favourite green picks in anticipation of Earth Month in April.

More of our beauty favourites:

Zoya ’s Nail Lacquers come in fun glossy and matte shades and are free of toluene, phthalates, formaldehyde, and camphor and come in fun glossy and matte shades, $7 US. Green Beaver Lip Shimmers are certified organic, vegan and rich in vitamin E. They’re also paraben-free with no artificial flavours, dyes, sulfates or phlalates, $6. Revolution Organics Beauty Balm uses 85 percent certified organic ingredients and gives cheeks, eyes and lips colour without any synthetics, petrochemicals, parabens or artificial ingredients, $37.

G.M. Collin ’s Bio Organique Eye Contour Cream uses sea fennel, rice extracts and Spanish lavender to treat fine lines. It’s also Eco-Cert certified 74 percent organic with no GMO’s, parabens, or petrochemicals, $56.

And of course some other great brands include: Live CleanOliv’Almay nautralsAvon naturals, L’Occitane Organics, The Body Shop, Dr. Hauschka, and Jose Maran and Korres at Sephora.

Decoding the Buzzwords:

Certified Organic – Another blanket term, organic can refer to all, or only some of  the ingredients. Check for government certifications, such as USDA Organic and Biologique Canada Organic, or reputable companies such as Certech and Ecocert.

Keep Researching:

Cosmetic Database –  Go online to find out what the rating is of your product. And Remember, nothing’s perfect. The Green Beauty Guide – This breaks down the latest beauty products and techniques that are safe for you. Julie Gabriel really knows her stuff!
