When it comes to holiday dressing, I look for a few things: shimmer, luxe textures and a little drama. Every party season, I scour the aisles—and websites—of my favourite brands for rhinestone-encrusted accessories, cute matching sets and one-and-done party dresses that spark joy. I have a roster of go-to brands that never let me down but, once in a while, I unearth a hidden gem. This is exactly what happened this year with Melanie Lyne's holiday collection.

Trust me: If Melanie Lyne—the Canadian clothing brand better known for its office staples—isn’t on your radar as a shopping destination, it should be. The brand's holiday collection is really, really good. Think elevated basics, with a dusting of seasonal magic. Here’s what’s on my wish list for my next party look.

3D Floral Blouse and Skirt, $128 each

I love this set’s black-on-black floral appliqués. It has Simone Rocha vibes, but at a fraction of the price. Add a pearlescent clutch or a bow hair accessory to complete the look.

Satin Top Handle Clutch, $86

A red ruched top handle bag from the Melanie Lyne holiday collection.

I’ve been on the lookout for a red party bag, and this one ticks all the boxes. The silhouette strikes the perfect balance between structured and slouchy, and the ruched top handle adds a little pop of texture that takes it from plain to cool.

Not sure what to wear to the function? A LBD is the answer to all of your holiday dressing woes. This dress has pleated panels and satin accents for a dressy spin on the corporate blazer dress.

Accordion Sleeve Blouse, $98

Big sleeves are the perfect way to add a little drama to your holiday look. This satin blouse with pleated accordion sleeves is guaranteed to become your office party MVP.

Stone Embellished Bow Bag, $88

A sequined bow bag from the Melanie Lyne holiday collection.

The holiday season calls for a little sparkle. This bow-adorned clutch fits all of your party essentials, and it comes with a removable crossbody chain to go hands-free.

Shimmer Organza Blouse, $218

The combination of the show-stopping neck tie and sheer organza hits all the right notes for the holiday season. I would style this blouse with a wide-leg trouser or a midi skirt, but it can also be layered under a slip dress or tailored vest.

Satin Trim Blazer, $198

Red is without a doubt the colour of the year, and a cherry blazer makes the perfect seasonal statement. Embrace a full suiting moment with the matching pants.

A jumpsuit is the ultimate one-and-done party look, and this one hits two festive trends: bows and velvet. Just throw on some statement earrings and you're ready for an evening out.
