Fashion pick of the week: Brights

While cleaning out my closet the other night, I came across a large stack of brightly coloured summer knits. The sight of fuchsia pink and lemon yellow made me instantly yearn for a hot summer day. But instead of pushing the pile towards the back of my closet, I selected one of the sweaters and set out to face the cold.

While cleaning out my closet the other night, I came across a large stack of brightly coloured summer knits. The sight of fuchsia pink and lemon yellow made me instantly yearn for a hot summer day. But instead of pushing the pile towards the back of my closet, I selected one of the sweaters and set out to face the cold.

Brights were a key trend among designers like Jil Sander, Prada and Lanvin during the spring ’11 shows last year. Although spring is still more than a couple of months away, there is no reason you can’t start integrating its key trends into your wardrobe right now.

This amazingly vibrant blazer comes from Mango and is the perfect transitional piece for those who are bored with their dull winter pallet. Pull off this look now with black or grey leggings, knee high boots, and a turtleneck. Then, top it off with a cozy, streamlined coat to add a cool and colourful pop to your winter repertoire.
