Being a mom is a lot of work. I can't say that I speak from experience but being one of four children I can only imagine that it's not easy.
So that's why we decided to use some real, overworked and yet still fabulous mothers for our Chatelaine Mommy Makeover in our May issue on stands now.
We chose three moms: Shahana, a corporate lawyer with two lively young boys; Cindy, the founder of a music school with a cherubic baby girl; and Stephanie, a sprightly mom who does marketing from home and has two beautiful curly-haired girls.
All of the women had their own wants and needs from our makeover. Our top request was natural makeup and also a look that was easy to achieve as I'm guessing most of them don't have the time nor the energy to get glammed up on a regular basis.
We recommended some great products to save them time and money: a tinted moisturizer to even out skin tone in a snap, a highlighter stick for hiding dark circles and lines, and of course a blush/bronzer combo to give them that sun-kissed look even when they're sleep-deprived. For hair, it was all about curlers and easy volume.
Tomorrow on CityLine with Tracy Moore you can take a behind-the-scenes look at our photo shoot and if you look closely you just might catch Deborah and I in the audience. Photo shoots may look like all glamour in our pages, but it can take a lot of hard work to entertain young kids all day and still take pretty shots of our patient mothers.
We're happy to say that we pulled it off and we also hope we made all the women feel like movie stars.
