What is a Boobyball you ask? It's a big event hosted every year to help fight breast cancer and raise awareness among youth. Started in 2002 by Amanda Blakley and Ashleigh Dempster, co-founders of The Society Global, this year the Boobyball party will be led by Aliya-Jasmine Sovani (MTV) and Denise Dias and the crew is hoping to raise $140,000 to add to the half a million that's been raised thus far.

Pics from last year's event: (From top to bottom: Amanda Blakley and Ashleigh Dempster, Aliya-Jasmine Sovani, and Mary Kitchen.) Proceeds will go towards BIG (Booby Innovation Grant)  that uses new ideas to provide new support services for young women with breast cancer,  along with Rethink Breast Cancer. The BIG grant is funded by the Boobyball proceeds, to help inspire youth to help create a future without breast cancer. "Young women who have had breast cancer have unique insights into the challenges and gaps that exist along the journey, as they've been through it themselves," said MJ DeCoteau, the executive director of Rethink Breast Cancer."However, funding restrictions can keep these ground-breaking ideas from coming to light. Through our new Booby Innovation Grant, survivors will have the opportunity to create and formalize their innovative ideas."  The grant allows  survivors to be involved in creating innovative products, programs or initiatives to improve the quality of life of other young women diagnosed with the disease and to give back to the breast cancer community. Tickets are on sale now for the nautical-themed party to take place at Toront's waterfront venue, Atlantis on October 2nd.
