Never underestimate the broad appeal of toilet humour—especially when it’s tastefully sprinkled with white diamonds and cast in 10K gold.
That’s the hook that Toronto-based fine jewellery retailer, Bluboho, banked on with their recent launch of their solid gold La Toilette Charm in late March.
The cheeky design, which retails for $498, is made of solid 10K gold and decorated with four round diamonds.
But it’s what’s inside the bowl that sets the charm apart. It’s stacked with a twinkly mound of oval labradorite. The gem does double-duty (or should we say, doody?) adding depth and dimension to a one-of-a-kind visual.
In keeping with the Canadian retailer’s gently woo-woo approach to marketing, the charm is sold as a way to honour “the quiet courage of letting go.”
The trinket’s origin story is pretty cute, too. It was pitched as an April Fool’s joke last year, but customer demand for the item was so high that the woman-run business decided to put it into on-demand production run for 2026. In other words: what started as a joke has since become a limited-edition release, including a couple of other bathroom-themed charms: a diamond-studded toilet seat, a toilet paper roll, and a single torn-away TP sheet.
Fans of the brand can join the waitlist for the item or place a custom order.
The charm may not be for the faint of heart, but it hits the sweet spot for customers with a sense of humour.
