Best beauty buy

I'll admit it ' the U.K. brand Toni & Guy was never really on my radar until I paid a visit to one of its Toronto salons this past fall. I had been lusting after chic, bed-head curls for months and hadn't been able to find a way to make them look natural and stay in all day.

So, being the nosy style editor that I am, I asked one of the hairdressers to show me how to get the look. He demonstrated on a girl nearby, creating luscious waves in seconds flat. So I thought, well that's great but I'm not willing to buy a fancy $300 curling iron when I can barely master my straightener.

But lo and behold, curly hair was in the cards for me. The price of this magnificent tool you ask? A whopping $40 and it's available at Shoppers Drug Marts nation-wide. So next time you go to pick up some TP you can also snag a groovy, easy-to-use curling iron.

Salon-quality and cheap? We won't tell a soul.

Toni & Guy 1+1 quarter inch Sleek Light Styling Iron, $40.
