$10, OPI
Nobody plays the name game better than OPI. (And for the record, you pronounce the brand’s moniker the same way you would any other acronymn: by slurring the letters together. Trust us, we’ve heard everything from “oh-pie” to “oh-pee” and it makes us giggle.) Some of their most recognizable, all-time nail polishes include: I’m Not Really a Waitress, a deep, shiny red; Lincoln Park After Dark, a vampy almost-black crème purple; Bubble Bath, a sheer, soft pink; and You Don’t Know Jacques, a mushroom-brown taupe. Currently, the family-run, North Hollywood-based company boasts a rumoured 1000-plus strong unique and aptly named nail polishes—a far cry from its beginnings as a small dental company supplying acrylic porcelains to nail technicians back in 1981 under the title, Odontorium Products Inc. Now, the latest name to be added to its covetous roster is a true classic and stunningly flattering rouge hue: Got the Blues For Red. There’s really nothing left to say except: go get your nails done.
