Clinique Almost Lipstick in Black Honey

Beauty 100: Don't be scared - this dark hue is actually quite sheer. And it suits almost every skin tone

Remember the ’90s, when we all played copycat to Meg Ryan and cut our hair into her girl-next-door shag and wore a sheer slick of her then favoured lip colour, Clinique’s Almost Lipstick in Black Honey, every single day and didn’t care that we all looked exactly the same? Well, the preferred blackberry-esque lip hue is back, or should we say: it’s never gone away. A cult-classic since its debut in 1971, this barely-there berry tint is as balmy and moisturizing as it is universally flattering. The makeup gurus at Clinique will even tell you to layer it on over top of other hues, because it’s just that good. We don’t disagree. We can’t. We’re too busy applying another coating of the stuff across our mouth to talk.
