$17, Butter London

When you read this nail lacquer line’s ingredient list, we know you’ll be impressed. Not by what’s included in it, rather, by what has been taken out. The London-born high-fashion nail colours, including its brand new hue, Lovely Jubbly—a vibrant magenta flecked with red, blue and gold—are all non-toxic: there’s nary a paraben, formaldehyde, toluene or DBP to be found. And when you know nails like we do, you know how rare this is; as the brand will proudly tell you, it’s savvy founder Sasha Muir saw a gap in the marketplace for luxurious yet affordable nail polishes (and services) that were not merely high quality, but eco-friendly. She swiftly got to business and with the help of her favourite manicurist and now butter LONDON’s founding creative director, Nonie Crème, launched her British empire in 2005. With a designer following that includes Alexander Wang, Victoria Beckham, Vena Cava, Calvin Klein and Issa, we can safely assure you that this chemical-free brand is here to stay.
