Nail art is a major trend this summer, and one of the easiest ways to jump on board, and to DIY, is with the cracked/textured/shattered look. And while this style isn’t exactly the most ‘polished’ look, (you might want to skip it on office days), it certainly is fun to try at least once. Just beware that each nail will look a little different from the last.

How to:

  1. Apply a standard polish as your first coat and let it dry – keep in mind that the colour you choose will show through the second cracked coat. We tried an orange-yellow colour as the base and black on top for a cool cheetah effect.
  2. Apply a thin layer of texture coat on top of your regular polish and watch it crack as you allow it to dry.
  3. Lastly a topcoat will help keep this look clean, and fight against chips.
