At LG Fashion Week I had my few classic favourites. I always love the looks from Andy, Joeffer and David. But there were a few new faces that sparked my interest.

Aime Luxury, created by 26-year-old Ryerson grad Monica Mei, was one of them. Her fall line, inspired by the café culture of Post-war Paris, was filled with fun work or play numbers in eco-chic fabrics. All the pieces looked soft and luxurious with a bit of sparkle and shimmer that caught my eye.

Her collection uses silk, bamboo, cashmere and organic cotton from mills in Italy, Japan and Canada. Plus, the clothing is all produced sweat-shop free in Canada. Even the hangtags are carbon neutral and are Forest Stewardship Council and Chlorine Free Certified.

What also caught my eye during her collection were the adorable beret headbands. It was a fresh take on the feather headband that has been all the rage. The beautifully done headpieces with gold and silver birdcage veils were definitely style-worthy and a nice addition to the chic French-inspired line.

They were part of a collaboration with Aime and Toronto's Danielle Suppa for Le Petit Beret.

Not all the headpieces are available but take a look at the site – I think they're really quite dapper.
