In the kitchen: Blueberry tasting

In the Chatelaine Kitchen, last Friday we sampled a variety of local blueberries — Northland, Duke and Bluecrop. Although each variety look very similar, they each have a slightly different flavour. Our favourite were the Bluecrop. These blueberries pop up mid-season. Their sweet taste is delicious for making pies. Along with receiving a bundle of blueberries also came notice of an upcoming Blueberry festival in Bothwell, Ontario. Here is a pic of the Bluecrop blueberries:
