Great news for lactose-intolerant Canadians: Natrel now offers lactose-free 35% whipping cream and 10% coffee cream (in Ontario and Quebec only) in addition to their lactose-free milk products. Natrel uses a unique filtration process to help remove virtually all the lactose.

Natrel sent us some samples so we decided to give the products a whirl and put their lactose-free 35% cream to the test. We made a batch of our 10-minute orange-vanilla ice cream and substituted the regular 35% whipping cream with the lactose-free brand.

The result? Still deliciously creamy and dreamy – we’d never know the difference! The products whip up just like regular 35% cream and have the same taste and texture. Use it in our ginger-berry cookies and cream dessert, lemon cream or as a whipped topping for our classic angel food cake.
