3 Chocolate Peanut Bananaza2 1

In February, we hosted an online cupcake contest for a chance to win a KitchenAid stand mixer. We received 139 entries across Canada, and were amazed by the talents of all the participants! The winner was chosen based on the number of votes by you, the readers of chatelaine.com. And the winner, with a whopping 1406 votes, is Elizabeth Martin from Langley, British Columbia!

Elizabeth describes her winning creation, the Chocolate Peanut Bananaza, as “a chocolate peanut butter banana cupcake (very light and not too sweet). The icing is a peanut butter whipped topping covered with crushed, roasted, candied peanuts then milk chocolate chips. Drizzled with caramel and garnished with a homemade banana chip.”

Sounds absolutely decadent to me.

Kudos also goes to our runner-ups: the Choco-mint love with 1366 votes and Froggy cupcakes with 392 votes.

Congratulations Elizabeth - you’ll be taking home a KitchenAid stand mixer to help assist in all the baking we foresee you’ll be doing in your near future!
