Mulled red wine

Ingredients

  • 3/4 cup red wine

  • 2 tsp granulated sugar

  • 1/4 tsp cinnamon

  • 1/4 tsp freshly grated nutmeg

  • squeeze of fresh lemon juice

  • dash of bitters

Instructions

  • Heat all ingredients in a saucepan just until boiling, then pour into a mug. Or microwave in a mug on high until piping hot, from 1 to 2 minutes. Taste and add a dash more of spices, if needed.
