Ingredients

  • 4 Italian sausages

  • 142-g bag mixed greens, about 12 cups loosely packed

  • 1/2 small red onion

  • 1 firm ripe mango, or 2 firm ripe peaches

  • 1/3 cup Japanese salad dressing

Instructions

  • Lightly oil grill and heat barbecue to medium-high. Make several shallow diagonal slashes in sausages. Barbecue with lid closed, turning occasionally, until sausages are lightly browned and resist slightly when pressed, 10 to 15 minutes.

  • Meanwhile, place greens in a large bowl. Slice onion into thin rings. Peel fruit. Slice fruit from stone in long thick pieces. Slice into thin strips. Add onion and mango to greens. Drizzle with dressing. Toss until evenly coated. Taste and add a little more dressing, if needed. Remove sausages from grill. Thinly slice diagonally. Add to salad and toss gently.
