A daiquiri cocktail in a stemless martini glass with crushed ice and a wood stir stick. The daiquiri is made with amber rum; lime juice; simple syrup and fresh mint leaves and garnished with a maraschino cherry. For a post on a classic Daiquiri cocktail recipe.

Chatelaine Triple Tested

Another sweet-tart classic cocktail.

Ingredients

  • 2 oz amber rum

  • 1/2 oz lime juice

  • 1/2 oz simple syrup

  • fresh mint leaves, to garnish

  • maraschino cherry, to garnish

  • ice cubes

Instructions

  • FILL a cocktail shaker with ice cubes. Add rum, lime juice and simple syrup. Shake well.

  • STRAIN into a martini glass. Garnish with mint leaves and maraschino cherry.

  • Simple syrup: Boil 1 cup sugar with 1 cup water in a small pot until sugar dissolves. Store in fridge up to two months.

Cocktail math: 1 oz = 2 tbsp.
