The state of maternal mental health care makes me worry about having a second child. I don’t know if I could go through postpartum depression again.

I decided to call it quits after one kid to protect my mental health and to be the mother that my daughter deserves.

I made a decision that I believed was best for me and my family. One that I felt was mine to make. Yet, it was one shrouded in shame and guilt, never to be spoken of.

I’ve had to train myself to see normal adult emotions not as traumatic experiences, but as ones I can handle.
