What it’s about: This tragic romance based on Jojo Moyes’ popular book by the same name centers around cute but cold Will, who is bound to a wheelchair after a brutal accident, and his beautiful but damaged caregiver Louisa, determined to show him that life is worth living. Prepare to ugly-cry.










Star powerGame of Thrones’ Emilia Clarke and Sam Claflin of The Hunger Games fame play the heartbreaking couple.

The Shallows

When it’s out: June 24 












What it’s about: Pegged as a modern day Jaws, this campy thriller is basically a showdown between a pro surfer and a great white shark.  











Star power: Blake Lively plays surfer Nancy Adams (and provides a ton of summer surf style inspiration).

Tarzan

When it’s out: July 1 












What it’s about: This big-budget action flick follows Tarzan, now living in London after leaving the African jungle where he was raised, as he returns to the Congo to investigate a mining camp on behalf of the British government.











Star power: Alexander Skarsgård plays Tarzan, Margot Robbie stars as Jane and Christoph Waltz is the mining villain they square off against.

The BFG

When it’s out: July 1












What it’s about: The delightful movie adaptation of the Roald Dahl novel revolves around a little orphaned girl named Sophie and the Big Friendly Giant (BFG) she befriends who, unlike his peers, doesn’t like to lunch on children.











Star power: Dahl wrote it, Disney made it and Steven Spielberg directed it.

Fathers and Daughters

When it’s out: July 8 












What it’s about: In this sappy tearjerker, a young girl is sent to live with her aunt after her mother dies and her Pulitzer-winning author father suffers a breakdown. The story continues years later as the daughter struggles to form healthy relationships as an adult.











Star power: Russell Crowe and Amanda Seyfried star as father and daughter, with Breaking Bad’s Aaron Paul playing Seyfried’s grown-up love interest.

Mike and Dave Need Wedding Dates

When it’s out: July 8




What it’s about: Two brothers post an ad on Craigslist in search of dates for their sister’s Hawaiian wedding — and it goes totally viral. They find seemingly sweet dates... who end up being full of wild surprises.



Star power: Zac Efron and Workaholics' Adam DeVine play the delinquent brothers but Anna Kendrick and Aubrey Plaza are sure to steal every scene as their adrenaline-loving, hard-partying dates.

Absolutely Fabulous: The Movie

When it’s out: July 22




What it’s about: The over-the-top twosome storms the silver screen and gets up to all kinds of glamorous hijinks after accidentally murdering Kate Moss and fleeing London for the French Riviera.



Star power: Stars of the sitcom Jennifer Saunders and Joanna Lumley lead the big screen adaptation as boozy Brits Patsy and Edina, along with cameos from big names like Kim Kardashian, Rebel Wilson and Moss herself.

Ghostbusters

When it’s out: July 15




What it’s about: This just might be the most talked about movie remake of the year with an all-female cast picking up where the original crew left off. 



Star power: Leslie Jones, Melissa McCarthy, Kristen Wiig and Kate McKinnon play the ghoul-battling foursome, while Sigourney Weaver returns to the franchise (she played possessed babe Dana Barrett in the original) for a cameo.

Bad Moms

When it’s out: July 29 


What it’s about: From the writers of The HangoverBad Moms is what might happen if the ladies of Bridesmaids had kids. The movie follows three moms gone wild as they let loose for a weekend and come head to head with perfect PTA president Gwendolyn and her gang of mom-bots. 



Star power: Mila Kunis, Kristen Bell and Kathryn Hahn star as the partying trio while Christina Applegate plays Queen Bee Gwendolyn.

Florence Foster Jenkins

When it’s out: August 12 


What it’s about: This sweet based on a true story comedy follows a music-loving New York heiress who strives to become an opera star despite her average-at-best singing abilities. 



Star power: Meryl Streep plays Jenkins and Hugh Grant is her doting husband.
