The news: Calgary's newly christened song-and-dance queen was the big winner at Sunday night's Junos celebration in Hamilton: Kiesza took home statues for Breakthrough Artist of the Year, Dance Recording and Video of the Year for her one-take, house-inspired throwdown "Hideaway." Leonard Cohen, Montreal's sonic poet laureate, took Album of the Year for Popular Problems, and Toronto's The Weeknd snagged Artist of the Year. But it was Alanis Morissette who most threatened to steal Kiesza's thunder — she performed a show-closing power-mashup of "Uninvited," "Thank U" and "You Oughta Know" before being ushered into the Canadian Music Hall of Fame.

The dish: Kiesza is pronounced "ky-zuh," like "kaiser." Here's one with grilled steak and colourful salsa fresca to help you remember. Get the recipe here.
