Today's pairing: Goodbye, Glee + feel-good jam

This is Cooking the News, a daily column that pairs food with the news.

The news: After six seasons of musical bliss and heart-exploding character arcs, Glee, everyone's favourite highschool-musical series, will air its final episode on Friday night. Aside from being best source of cover songs outside of dingy karaoke bars, McKinley High's New Directions choir crew exposed readers to a level of cast diversity — in terms of gender, ability, race and sexuality — heretofore not seen in prime-time slots. We're sure there'll be plenty of tear-jerking moments for Gleeks during tonight's finale, but it probably won't be worse than the time Lea Michele and Idina Menzel duetted on "I Dreamed a Dream." We still can't talk about that.

The dish: A feel-good jam with an eclectic mix of strawberries, blueberries and raspberries. Get the recipe here.
