Sometimes giving your room a whole new look can be as simple as adding a fresh set of decorative pillows. A bright punchy pattern, cool motif or luxe fabric can really elevate your whole look and make a statement in even the plainest of spaces. Pillows automatically lend a sense of comfort and will make your space more inviting and comfortable for holiday guests, or even perhaps for yourself coming in at the end of a long, cold day.

Don't have time to break out your old sewing machine or scour the shops for the perfect set? Have no fear - I've found some of my favourite Canadian Etsy sellers whose handcrafted treasures can be delivered straight to your door and have you ready to show off some fabulous homegrown style before the holiday parties start.

Loubella - A wide range of pretty patterns and pre-selected coordinating fabric schemes that will have your friends thinking you've hired a designer.

Classic by Nature - Made by two stylish sisters in Montreal, this collection features simple hand painted graphics inspired by nature.

Sparrow Ave - This charming moose graphic adds a little wintry touch that's decidedly Canadian.

Nicole Tarasick -  This handmade screen-printed collection features updated twists on traditional motifs such as the classic Sawtooth star quilt pattern. Their signature piece is the Map of Canada pillow cover, developed exclusively with the design store Style Garage. After all, what could be more Canadian than, well - Canada?

Milk and Cookies - Bold patterns and classic motifs such as zebra print and trellis patterns make this little shop a must-see and one of my new favourites.

Hawt Home - Sometimes the simplest way to get your message across is to spell it out. These custom felt applique pillows let you do just that whether sending a message of  'love' or just putting your own personal stamp on the space with a custom monogram
