Pillow talk: How to mix patterns and prints

Follow these rules to master the art of mixing prints and patterns on your sofa, on your bed or throughout an entire room.

1. Use groups of three. You need at least three patterns to get a good mix. Two just won’t cut it. 2. Vary the scale. Combine at least one large-scale pattern with a smaller pattern. The third pillow can be a pattern of any size or a solid colour. 3. Choose two or three colours. Refine your palette to a few specific colours and make sure at least one pillow ties everything together.

Feeling inspired? Mix and match any of these pillows — all are winning combinations!
