How to add big style to a small bathroom

Small bathrooms come with many downsides — less counter space, minimal storage and limited room for all your shampoo bottles, to name a few. But if there's one perk, it's that you can (and should) get creative with the room's decor. Here are five simple ways to punch up your teeny tiny watercloset.

Pops of colour. Try layering in some bright hues with a fun shower curtain or wallpaper. Go as loud or patterned as you like. If you're in the market for prints, Society 6 has one for every design scheme. Tropical? Check. Botanical Star Wars? — no, we're not kidding — also check.

Fun lights. Chandeliers in the bathroom are a risky choice. Try adding a small hanging pendant light or wall-mounted fixture — they'll instantly add an interesting decor element to your small space.

Wall-mounted accessories. That pumpable hand soap is necessary, but it's not exactly stylish. Invest in accessories — like, say, a soap dish — that can be fixed to the wall to save room.

A hint of green. A vertical wall garden brings the outdoors in. Air plants look beautiful and thrive with minimal care in humid environments, so win-win.

Wall art. Because inspirational quotes are the best way to start and end your day.
