Colour of the year

Nothing welcomes a new year better than a bold burst of colour in the home. And for 2014, Pantone’s “It Colour” is Radiant Orchid. Inspired by this beautiful vibrant hue, I found more ways to bring more purple into your home this year. Click through to see my five picks!

A bright faucet

This ceramic faucet has serious "wow" factor. I would love to see this bold-coloured faucet in my powder room – now that's a way to liven up a bathroom!

A cozy throw

There’s rarely a time that I am not drawn to a throw. To me they are the perfect accessory for any seating arrangement and a beautiful way to change up seasonal colours and trends. This mohair throw is as rich in colour as it is in texture. Perfect for getting us through the rest of the winter.

A graphic wallpaper

I’ve always loved wallpaper, especially those suitable for a nursery or kids' room. One of my favourite children’s interior decorators, Sissy + Marley, have collaborated with print and pattern mastermind Jill Malek to create a collection of gorgeous wallpapers. Here’s “My House” wallpaper in a shade that gives a nod to this year's colour of the year.

A stylish cushion

Toss in a new colour to your living room and you’ll feel like you’ve got a fresh new space. Bonus: These brilliant cushions are Canadian made.

A pretty creamer

I always love to have fashionable accessories in my kitchen and this plum oversized creamer totally fits the bill. It’s a fabulous addition to a counter space and can be also used to serve fresh juice, water and more.
