Modern Christmas

With three boys under seven, this family knows how to keep the holidays all about each other. Their home is a calming blend of clean lines and eclectic touches. “We like minimalistic style with unexpected objects and organic shapes,” says this modern mom. This year, their holiday decorating started with a lucky find at HomeSense — a gigantic silver-ball wreath. The vibrant metallic and jewel-tone scheme grew from there. “We always get a real tree and dress it together, with objects and ornaments that we’ve gathered on family vacations.” Everything goes on it, from Caribbean seashells and feathers to classic Vatican keepsakes. As for entertaining, “we stick to a simple minimalist tabletop. Then my husband always gets out his big wineglasses. I mix in interesting, colourful waterglasses.” It’s the perfect blend of modern and classic holiday cheer.

Glam

Decor dances with glam in this city row house. Metallic blue throw cushions adds a colourful punch to a neutral palette.
