Our challenge: To create a gorgeous bedroom that oozes elegance and style for under $1,000. The biggest expense in a bedroom is often the headboard — for ours, we used a patterned rug, but an antique door, a roll of wallpaper or strips of reclaimed wood would work as well. Adding some texture, through a faux-fur throw or knitted accent pillow, is a great way to create a luxe look. Here is proof that beautiful rooms don’t have to break the bank.
Rug, (used as headboard), bed frame, side table, Ikea. Bed linens, throw pillow, shams, HomeSense. Throw, West Elm. Table lamp, pitcher, white vase, Target. Sheepskin, Costco. Bench, vintage.
The total cost: $995.
