Six mushroom recipes

As you make your way down your grocery store's produce aisle this month, you might notice a rather unconventional colour popping up amongst the fruits and veggies: pink. October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and mushrooms are joining the race to fight breast cancer by dressing up in pink packaging. For every pound of these mushrooms sold, Canadian mushroom farmers will make a contribution to the Breast Cancer Society of Canada.

Mushrooms are not only delicious, but they're also considered a superfood, armed with cancer-fighting selenium. Shiitake mushrooms can even help aid in post-treatment chemotherapy and radiation.
