Costco's 11 Best Kirkland Signature Products

Even if you don’t have a brood that requires two-kilogram tubs of peanut butter, Costco has tons of variety and value to offer, especially in its private-label Kirkland Signature products. Often cheaper than their brand-name equivalents, they’re also occasionally the same or better in quality—sometimes even made by the same company that manufactures the original. Next time you’re cruising the aisles, have a few samples and check out these 11 best Kirkland Signature products to buy now at Costco.

The items and prices listed in the gallery below were sourced from the Costco in Burlington, Ont. and may vary from store to store.

Costco Products

Trail Mix

With a hearty mix of protein- and fibre-rich peanuts, raisins, almonds and cashews, this tasty treat also contains real M&Ms.

AA Batteries

Stock up, and avoid having to swap the batteries from your kids’ toys to power your remote. In Consumer Reports testing, Kirkland Signature alkaline AAs were rated a “Best Buy” because of their performance and price, which is currently about 52 cents per pair (Duracell performed better, but cost more than twice as much). Consumer Reports also says don’t bother storing them in the fridge—a cool, dark place works just as well.

Containing the same active ingredient (acetaminophen) as Tylenol, this generic over-the-counter pain reliever certainly relieves the pain of paying for the brand-name equivalent: While the Kirkland Signature version works out to almost 1.5 cents per tablet, the major label brand is over nine cents.

Costco is undoubtedly the best place to stock up for party snacks, and you don’t have to settle for the one-kilogram barrel of Cheese Balls (unless you really want to). Here you’re getting the quality of Kettle Brand Krinkle Cut chips for a private-label price: A smaller bag in a national department store costs $1.35 per 100 g, while these will satisfy your guests for 72 cents.

Extra-lean (98 percent fat-free) and packed in water, these chunks of chicken breast are fully cooked and great for topping salads and stuffing sandwiches.
