Weekend style: Oversized blouse, denim and cap-toe heels

Nicole Richie is having a moment and we're taking style notes, adding an extra-long blouse, cap-toe shoes and cat-eye sunglasses to our repertoire.

Nicole Richie is having a moment; between her wildly popular and funny web series, #Candidly Nicole, and her fashion business, the mother of two has become a tastemaker to watch.

Richie's ability to mix boho-chic with city-chic is always on point, but we love how she’s amped up this denim outfit with a few simple styling tricks. I’m taking a few style notes from Richie: adding a thicker cuff to my boyfriend jeans, trying a clutch for day instead of a large tote, and wearing an oversized blouse in place of a blazer or sweater. Bonus, this patterned shirtdress would also work on its own come fall. Perk up the outfit with a few accessories, such as these two-tone cap-toe heels, the aforementioned roomy clutch and cat-eye sunglasses.

Effortless hair is my mane-mantra, so a sleek, deep-side part ponytail pulls the whole look together.
