The glossy, high-shine look was the most glamorous of the season, says Paul Wilkes, a global guest artist for Matrix Canada. “Hair is either being worn with a bit of volume at the scalp and a wet finish through the lengths and ends, or being slicked back tightly and secured into low chignons and ponytails,” he says. The result is a little bit luxe, a little bit grunge and 100 percent dramatic.

If you want a more secure style, work a gel or mousse through damp locks and brush hair back from your face to dry. For an extra-shiny, more flexible finish, try a nourishing oil on dry hair instead.
