This whimsical, undone style was a hit on the runways for its relaxed and effortless appeal. “It’s great for spring and summer,” says Tony Masciangelo of Toronto’s Alcorn Salon, “because it’s a little frayed, frizzy and distressed, so it works with your own texture and especially in warm weather.”
Whether you’ve got a natural wave or need to amp it up with a texturizer, diffuser or curling iron, make sure you loosen the wave after styling so it doesn’t look perfectly groomed.
Next, loosely tie your hair back into a bun or twist and use pins to secure it in place. Pull some sections out and let the wispy pieces fall around your face. “It’s a relaxed, sexy feel. Don’t be afraid to rough up the hairline, pull out some hair around the nape of your neck and play with it,” says Masciangelo.
