Walnuts

Walnuts

Old-Fashioned Apple Streusel

Peel, core and chop 3 royal gala apples. Arrange in a 9-in. pie plate. Stir 3/4 cup walnuts with 1/2 cup each rolled oats and brown sugar, 1/4 cup cubed cold butter and 1/2 tsp cinnamon in a bowl. Sprinkle mixture over apples. Bake at 350F until golden brown, about 40 min.

Sweet & Spicy Nuts

Combine 1 cup walnuts with 1/4 cup sugar and 1/4 tsp each sea salt, cumin and cayenne in a frying pan over medium-low. Cook, stirring constantly, until sugar melts and coats nuts. Transfer to a parchment-lined plate to cool. Toss with popcorn and chocolate for a sweet treat or sprinkle over salads.
