There’s a great event happening this week that may cure those post long-weekend, back-to-work blues: Le Burger Week! Until September 7th, Restaurants in Montreal, Quebec City, Ottawa, Gatineau, Toronto and Winnipeg are serving brand new burgers they've created for this festival, all competing for the title of ‘best burger’ in their home city.

In its third year, the event is encouraging people to explore food and flavour in their cities (as well as find the best-in-show burger). New this year is a not-for-profit initiative that – for the first time – takes the festival outside Canada; Co-founders Na'eem Adam and Thierry Rassam have donated the concept to Port-au-Prince, Haiti, to help encourage the goal of stimulating small businesses everywhere.

As co-founder Adam explains, “our mission is to stimulate businesses in cities based on a fun and adventurous idea, and to find the truly best burgers in each city with the help of burger lovers everywhere”.

Follow all the action (and place your vote) at LeBurgerWeek.com.
