Homemade Lemon Salt

Chatelaine Triple Tested

Share the gift of mouth-watering meals with flavoured salt. Just top a small glass jar with a printed sticker and some ribbon and voilá!

Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup lemon zest

  • 1/4 cup flaky sea salt, such as Maldon

Instructions

  • HEAT a small non-stick pan over medium. Add lemon zest, stirring constantly with a spatula, until dry, about 3 min. Let cool, 3 min.

  • COMBINE with salt in a small jar. Cover with lid and shake until combined. Keeps well in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 1 month.

Nutrition (per 1/2 tsp)

Sodium 262mg.

Try it with: Party tequila shots! Run a lemon wedge around the rims of 4 shot glasses, then turn each upside down onto a plate of Lemon Salt. Fill with tequila.
