Spicy blackberry salsa

Blackberry salsa

Chatelaine Triple Tested

Who says salsa has to be tomato-based? Try this fruity version instead.

Ingredients

  • 3 cups chopped blackberries

  • 1 shallot, minced

  • 1 finely chopped jalapeño, seeds discarded

  • 1/4 cup finely chopped cilantro

  • 2 tbsp lime juice

  • 1/4 tsp salt

Instructions

  • MASH blackberries gently in a small bowl until juices are released. Stir in shallot,  jalapeno, cilantro, lime juice and salt. Serve with tortilla chips.

Calories 44, Protein 1g, Carbohydrates 10g, Fat 1g, Fibre 5g, Sodium 147mg.
Good source of vitamin C.
