Chatelaine Triple Tested

You'll be enjoying the tangy taste of lime in no time with our Key Lime Pie. Simply whisk a few ingredients together in one bowl, pour into a prepared crust and bake.

Ingredients

  • 3 egg yolks, beaten

  • 1 can sweetened condensed milk, regular or low-fat

  • 1/2 cup lime juice

  • 2 or 3 drops green food colouring, optional

  • 19-in. graham-cracker or prepared frozen pie crust

  • frozen whipped topping, thawed

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 325ºF (160ºC).

  • Whisk together egg yolks, sweetened condensed milk, lime juice and food colouring if desired. Pour into prepared pie crust.

  • Bake in preheated oven for 30 minutes. Cool completely. Chill 1-2 hrs. Serve topped with whipped topping or whipped cream. Garnish as desired.
