Ingredients

  • 1 apple or pear, peeled, cored and thinly sliced

  • 1 to 2 tsp granulated sugar

  • pinch of cinnamon or ground ginger

  • 1/3 cup granola, or 2 granola bars

Instructions

  • Lay fruit in a soufflé or other ovenproof dish that holds 1 cup (250 mL). If fruit is sweet, sprinkle with 1 teaspoon sugar; if tart, use 2 teaspoons.

  • Sprinkle apple with cinnamon, or pear with ginger. Cover top completely with granola or crushed granola bars. Place in centre of preheated 400F (200C) oven and, to prevent topping from burning, loosely lay a piece of foil over top.

  • Bake from 25 to 30 minutes, and serve warm.
