Makeup is for everyone.
That's the message cosmetics super-giant CoverGirl sent Tuesday when it announced its latest brand ambassador: 17-year-old American high-school senior and makeup artist James Charles.
Charles, the first male face of the 55-year-old brand, shot to Internet fame last month when his senior class photos (below) went viral.
The images — and, let's be real, his 500,000 plus Instagram followers — caught the attention of CoverGirl, which then invited him to partner up for the coming year and star in its "So Lashy" mascara campaign.
"I started my Instagram one year ago to inspire others and as an artistic outlet to challenge myself creatively," Charles wrote on the platform Tuesday after an announcement with fellow CoverGirl spokesperson Katy Perry. "I truly hope that this shows that anyone and everyone can wear makeup and can do anything if you work hard."
